Sam Sand Dunes is the closest place for a visitor to become a signatory to the total sandy desert. Festivals are rejoicing in Jaisalmer with Holi, 'the festival of colors', the celebration of which touches its peak. The vivacious spurting of the colored water and the powder on one another is the highlight of the festival In the 'Jaisalmer Desert Festival' the desert itself comes throbbing to life, pulsating to the rare pastoral display of art and culture.
